Covid-19 Church Reopening

As you are aware the Government is allowing places of worship to re-open from 4thJuly (as well as bars, cafes and holiday lets, etc).

We have travelled along a hard road through the pandemic, and it is abundantly clear that the journey is not over yet.  If an effective vaccine can be developed, it will still be many months before this is deployed in a sufficient proportion of the population, and we must take our part with extraordinary care, to prevent further mass outbreaks or the possibility that lockdown restrictions will be imposed again.

The Pandemic is not over, and we must show loving actions to all, through doing what we can to minimise the risk of infection from our premises and our people.

This last week the Leadership Team (Elders) met to discuss the possibility of re-opening our church for services.

We were in complete agreement that we should delay opening our church until mid-September (We will review this decision near the end of August).

The reasons for this are that the virus has not disappeared; the reopening of bars, cafes and holiday lets could well lead to a spike in infection; our loving concern is for each one of you, bearing in mind that the majority of you are in the High Risk category.

So for now, we must remember that one of the fruits of the Spirit is patience (see Galatians 5:22). And we are going to be patient until the time is truly right and best to reopen our physical doors to weekend gatherings.

Additionally when we do open the collection of cash will be problematic. Therefore for those of you who currently pay by weekly cash donations, we would ask that you consider either paying regularly by standing order or by periodic online bank transfer.

The bank details are as follows:

Lloyds Bank             Sort Code 30-90-49          Account No. 01279626

If you do decide to do this please email the Treasurer (Roger Newton) Thank you.

Also we have a Zoom Church meeting on Sunday mornings followed by a Coffee Time zoom. Joining details are available from Julia Dolan. Please email her onlivingwaterslynton@gmail.comor phone07941412186.

Many Blessings to you

Jacquey, Roger & Julia
