What We Believe

1. About God

There is one and only one living and true God. God is the creator, sustainer and ruler of the universe. We believe God is Trinity, one God and three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Human beings are created in the image of God but, because of our rebellion against God, we brought both physical and spiritual death into the world. We stand judged, condemned and in need of a rescuer.

(see: Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

2. About Jesus Christ

Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. In His incarnation, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was both fully man yet fully God, He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as a sacrifice for all the sins of every person by dying on a cross. After three days he arose bodily from death to demonstrate his power of death and sin. He ascended to Heaven's glory and He will return again to Earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

(see: Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

3. About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives within every Christian from the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Holy Spirit brings us into relationship with Jesus, lives inside of us and empowers us to live our Christian lives.

(see: 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18, Galatians 5:25)

4. About Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God to all  people. The salvation of any individual is wholly achieved by God’s grace. Everyone has a choice to receive this free gift through repentance and faith.  Through faith and trust in Jesus we become God’s children, adopted into His family.

(see: Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12, 10:29, Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)

5. About the Church

The church is God’s idea and His way of bringing hope and communion for his people. Through the good news of Jesus  church communities become visible expressions of the life and light of Jesus. The church is bigger than any one local expression however. It is made up of all Christians throughout history and across the world.

The Bible commands believers to gather together for prayer, worship teaching of the Word, observance of baptism and the Lord's Supper, fellowship, ministry and outreach to the world. Its members are to work together to the glory of Christ.

(see: Acts 2:42-47; Matthew 22: 36-40, 28:19-20; John 4:23-24, 13:35; Ephesians 3:10; Hebrews 6:1; 2 Peter 3:18; Romans 10:13-14)

6. About the Bible

The Bible is God’s word to all people. It was written by human authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian life and thought and is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice. Because God is the author it contains complete truth without any mixture of error. There exists no other writings equally inspired by God.

(see: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 1 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)

7.  About the Future

Jesus will one day return to planet Earth. He will establish His new creation and death and sickness and suffering will be abolished forever!

(Revelation 21:4)
